The seventh millennium will be a time of peace and renewal, as it is written: ‘And on the seventh day, God rested and was refreshed’ (Exodus 31:17). So, too, the world will rest in the seventh millennium.
The Messianic era will last for 1,000 years. This corresponds to the verse, ‘For a thousand years in Your sight are like a day that has just gone by’ (Psalms 90:4).
God created the world to last six thousand years. In the seventh millennium, all souls will stand before the Throne of Glory, and the righteous will receive their reward.
The world to come will be entirely Sabbath, a day without end, reflecting the eternal nature of the seventh millennium.
The year 6,000 is the end of the current world, and the beginning of the World to Come. Until then, the footsteps of the Messiah will grow louder.
The Messiah will come in a generation that either fully keeps the covenant or completely breaks it. In either case, God will act for the sake of His name.
