The Milk & Meat
“
Brothers and sisters, I could not address you as people who live by the Spirit but as people who are still worldly—mere infants in Christ. I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready.
1 Corinthians 3:1-2

What is the Milk & Meat? Intro
Paul repeated this concept multiple times in 1 Corinthians 3:1-2 & Hebrews 5:12-14. Peter mentioned it in 1 Peter 2:2-3
“
Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.
1 Peter 2:2-3
”
Isaiah mentioned it in Isaiah 55:1-2 encouraging people spend their time and energy to get free wine and milk (prophecy and law). Where Solomon also promoted the idea of collecting wisdom by sitting at Wisdom’s table and eating your fill of true knowledge that can help yourself and others.
So what is “Milk & Meat”? Milk is the Torah, the laws that every child should grow up knowing:
“
Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?’ Jesus replied: ‘“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.’
Matthew 22:36-40

What is the Milk, Wine & Meat? Answer
The golden rule so to speak is the milk, the simple laws of: love your creator so much that his will, focus and desire becomes yours like a spouse and love his creation like your sibling. The first 5 books of the old testament are the milk we form our bones on as children, or at least should.
The wine is the work of the prophets, who tell us the plan and the future actions of our God so we can better understand the plan. You are to know them, study them, ruminate of them like you would someone you are dating. So you can know the patterns that are laid out and can know what to do when it is no longer practice but that key moment. Be careful like wine not to get drunk on them and misuse them but they are equally important and completely abandoned by the modern Church.
The meat is the word, plans, agenda, maturity of the Messiah. The teachings of Christ and his apostles and the work that the Holy Spirit (Ruach) does in you to burn your slag away from your gold like a crucible, the pressure it puts you under to squeeze out the holy oil from the oilve. This is the most important part of the meal of knowledge and that which will keep you alive and strong and grow you to be part of the coming Kingdom.
Do not stay only on the milk, do not avoid the wine and live fully off the meat that is the teachings and return of the Messiah as this age comes to a close and his Kingdom comes to reign over every nation on the Earth.
