Woe to the worthless shepherd who abandons the flock! May a sword fall on his arm and his right eye! May his arm wither completely away, and his right eye become completely blind!
Don’t let anyone deceive you at all! For the gathering will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, who replaces and exalts himself above every “god” or object of worship, so that he sits in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God.
And he will confirm a covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will cease sacrifice and grain offering; and on the verge of abominations is he who causes horror, until a decreed complete destruction is poured out on the one who devastates.
