The year 6,000 is the end of the current world, and the beginning of the World to Come. Until then, the footsteps of the Messiah will grow louder.
In the time of the Messiah, there will be no difference between this world and the next except for the burdens of exile. All other things will align with God’s appointed times.
In the days of the Messiah, the earth will produce cakes and fine wool garments, and the calendar will reflect the abundance of the divine blessings.
The Messiah will come in a generation that either fully keeps the covenant or completely breaks it. In either case, God will act for the sake of His name.
