The Messiah will come in a generation that either fully keeps the covenant or completely breaks it. In either case, God will act for the sake of His name.
God created the world to last six thousand years. In the seventh millennium, all souls will stand before the Throne of Glory, and the righteous will receive their reward.
The end is hidden even from the angels, but it will be revealed to Elijah, who will proclaim it to the people when the time is ripe.
