Seat of Moses
“
Then Jesus spoke to the crowds and to His disciples, saying: “The scribes and the Pharisees have seated themselves in the chair of Moses. Therefore, whatever they tell you, do and comply with it all, but do not do as they do; for they say things and do not do them.

What is the Tower of Edar
The “seat of Moses” (Hebrew: כִּסֵּא מֹשֶׁה, “Kisseh Moshe”) refers to a specific place of authority within ancient Jewish synagogues, symbolizing the position of teaching and interpretation of the Torah.
It was where the authoritative figure, usually a rabbi or leader, would sit to read and expound upon the Torah to the congregation. This chair was named in honor of Moses, who received the Torah from God on Mount Sinai and was the first to teach it to the Israelites.
The quote from Matthew 23:1-3 is an acknowledgment of their authority to teach the Torah, even if Messiah criticized the way some practiced it. This is why Messiah continuously said:
“
Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is comfortable, and My burden is light.
-Matthew 11:28-30

Archaeological Seat of Moses
Archaeological findings, such as the discovery of a “seat of Moses” in the ancient synagogue at Chorazin in Galilee, show these stone seats prominently placed within synagogues, often facing the congregation.
